Joe will have the coffee on!
Joe Krmpotich and his Glory Beans Coffee Wagon will be at the greenhouse this coming Saturday. Stop and get either a cup of joe from Joe or a wonderfully refreshing smoothie and let the Mothers Day gift shopping begin! By the way, Joe is the owner of the coffee wagon and his proceeds help pay his way through college. That is a hard working young man, wouldnt you say?

Our daughter’s family recently got an English setter puppy and named her Ruby. My 2 year old granddaughter was asked if she knew what kind of a puppy Ruby was. After some thought she answered she was pretty sure she was an English muffin.

Come Play and Sing in the Garden!
Its not the Voice or American Idol, but it is a chance for talented young people to perform in public! This summer we would like to offer a venue for the young and talented. The dates for this open air event are Saturday, June 29 and Saturday, July 27. Play a little or play a lot! Sing a little or sing a lot!
We do not provide instruments or a microphone. The ‘performers’ would need to bring their own equipment. Electricity will be available.
If you know of any groups or solo artists in the area that sing and/or play musical instruments and would like to perform at our greenhouse please contact Shirley at abfscimino@yahoo.com.

Important – America’s Best Flowers Lost and Found
We dont usually put lost and found items in the newsletter, but recently, an article of clothing was left at our greenhouse and due to a medical item that was in a pocket we felt this was necessary. Please call us at 608-222-2269 to identify the item and make arrangements to claim it.
I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it’s such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive,
but I have photographs of her.

Our Kitchen
The absolute best food always shows up when we have a gathering of friends. The latest gathering was this past weekend. The occasion, I have to confess, was my 60th birthday. People from all walks of my life descended on our home to help me celebrate. There was so much good food, Ill be sharing recipes for the next few weeks. Marty, our retail manager at Americas Best Flowers and his wife brought this unbelievably delicious Greek Salad. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did.
Greek Salad
- 1 small head broccoli, break in pieces
- 1 small head cauliflower, break in pieces
- 1 pint sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
- 1 jar salad olives, drained (chopped green olives)
- 1 can sliced ripe olives
- 4 oz. cubed feta cheese
- 2 pkgs Good Seasons Italian Dressing, dry
Directions
Mix together all vegetables and olives in a large bowl. Prepare dressing packages according to package directions & pour over vegetables and mix well. Finally, add Feta cheese and toss lightly. Chill before serving.
