So Long Farewell (for now, that is!)
Newsletter 32 – Thursday, October 27, 2011
Youll love your garden … Its our promise!
Bye-bye for now
Americas Best Flowers will be closing for the winter season at 5:00pm on Monday, October 31. However, if you need anything from us after that date, please call us at 222-2269 to arrange a time to meet us here. We will be more than happy to help you.
And, have no fear; our doors will reopen on March 31st, 2012! Well be here to welcome back spring, in all its glory! Just a little teaser here, weve made some exciting choices for plants next season and we can hardly wait for you to see them.
Please keep us in mind for all your Christmas gift card needs. Let us take the hassle out of Christmas shopping. We can take orders over the phone and mail the cards wherever you wish. A gift card from Americas Best Flowers not only shows you care, but it reminds the recipient that spring is really, right around the corner. Our gift cards are perfect for a holiday gift for your childs teacher, for several of your favorite co-workers or as a wonderful host and hostess gift (really, how much wine can a host or hostess drink?) Keep a supply of our gift cards on hand for those oops, I forgot about your birthday, anniversary, etc., times. Call us, well be there for you!
The cops came across these two kids. One was eating batteries, and the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let off the other.
Winter Porch Pot & Wreath Workshop
The holiday season is right around the corner! Are you ready for it? Do you have company coming? We can help you dress up that ho-hum front porch or yard. On Saturday, November 19, from 10 am to 4 pm we are having a holiday porch pot and wreath workshop. This event will be held inside the main greenhouse, rain or shine. This workshop is particularly fun to do with friends! There is still time to register, just call America’s Best Flowers at 608-222-2269 or e-mail abfrobbins@yahoo.com. If no one answers, please leave us a message.
Porch pots start with a bundle of assorted greens, add your favorites from a variety of decorations, and voila, you will have your very own unique creation. Feel free to bring your own container or you can purchase one of ours.
Wreaths are available on a preorder basis in two sizes, 15 and 24. America’s Best Flowers has chosen high quality, locally made wreaths with fresh assorted greens. A variety of picks, sprays and bows will be available for purchase. Give us a call today to preorder your wreath, the deadline is November 1.
Fundraising Program
Have you heard about America’s Best Flowers Fundraising Program? Do any of your school sports programs need new equipment or uniforms? What about your school or churches music programs? We offer non-profit organizations the opportunity to keep 25% of the proceeds from the sale of our gift cards. For example, if your organization sold $500 of our gift cards, which are available in any denomination, your organization would have raised $125. Its easy, its fun, its profitable, and we would be happy to come speak to your group and/or send you information. If you are interested or have questions, please contact Shirley Cimino at abfscimino@yahoo.com.
What did the big chimney say to the little chimney?
You’re too young to smoke.
Yes it Rained, Water Anyway
And dont forget to keep watering. Rainfall has been several inches short this year, so be sure to thoroughly water all your bulbs and plants before rolling up those hoses for the winter. The inch-a-week rule applies until the ground freezes, especially on any plantings done this year. Another good way to keep moisture available to your plants is by applying a fresh two-inch layer of mulch. The perfect time to do this is while you are clearing debris from your flower beds this fall. We just got our shipment in for next spring with eight different types of mulch. Whichever one you want, weve got it.
Why are pirates so popular?

A man bought a bathtub and took it home, but it didn’t seem to work. So he took it back to the shop and said, "This bathtub isn’t working! The water doesn’t stay in it!"
The salesman said, "Didn’t the tub come with a plug?"
The man replied, "No one told me it was electric!"

When Noah built his ark, he had two snakes aboard. When the animals were leaving, he said, "Go forth and multiply."
The snakes didn’t move.
"Go forth and multiply!"
They still didn’t move.
Noah was yelling by now. "Go forth and multiply!"
"We can’t," they answered.
Noah was confused. "Why not?"
"We’re adders."
