Lucy’s Story – Chapter 37

You will not believe this…Lucy has been keeping a winter diary!  Yikes, where does it end?

After some reasoning (and bribes with sweet potato treats) Lucy has agreed to share a winter entry.

Dear Diary,

Silly boots!  Silly, silly boots.  Boots for dogs are you kidding me? Whoever came up with this idea?  My mom and dad were so excited when they brought these things home.  They acted as if they were the next best thing to my glow in the dark rubber ball.  Yaaa, right!  Then they went on and on about how these ‘doggy boots’ will protect my paws from the ice and snow.

I am a dog for goodness sakes!  I am a descendant of the wolf.  Can you imagine what my ancestors would say if they saw me prance around in these things?  I would never be able to claim my place in wolf history if I wore them!

How can I avoid the humiliation of wearing (ugh) ‘doggy boots?’  I need a plan.

Ya know what, Diary, this is too stressful to think about right now.  I need a nap.  That always clears my head.  I’ll get back to you in a bit…

We have spring fever…how about you?

Don’t wait for spring to start planning your garden!  America’s Best Flowers is open for business.  We have vegetable seeds and flower seeds, potting soil, seed trays, and lots more to get you started.  It is one stop shopping at our greenhouse.

In addition, whether you are a first time gardener or a veteran gardener, our experienced staff is here to assist you.

America’s Best Flowers Fundraising Program

Spring 2014 is right around the corner!  People are beginning to think about vegetable gardens, shade trees, flowering shrubs and glorious flowers.

What perfect timing for your non-profit organization to participate in America’s Best Flowers fundraiser program.  Non-profit organizations earn 25% of the proceeds from each gift card they sell.  For example, if your organization sells $500 of our gift cards, which are available in any denomination over $10, your organization would earn $125.

Please contact us if your non-profit organization is in need of funds for things such as (but by no means limited to):

  • local charities, (i.e. food pantry)
  • church mission trips,
  • new equipment or uniforms for your school sports program, or
  • new equipment or uniforms for your school band or orchestra.

America’s Best Flowers gift cards are valid at both our Cottage Grove and Edgerton locations.

If you are interested or have questions regarding our easy and profitable program, please contact Shirley at abfscimino@yahoo.com.
