We, the America’s Best Flowers family, would like to show our appreciation by serving you, our Loyal Customers, FREE pizza on August 6th. What a fun day it will be! Brett Buchanan from Flying Cow Pizza, will be our pizza man between 11:00 3:00. Flying Cow Pizza is a portable brick oven on wheels.
So gather up the family and head on out to the country for lunch. And since youre coming out anyway, take a look at the list of items below we are collecting for the Dane County Humane Society and bring a few along. What a sweet deal, we feed you, you feed the hungry cats and dogs. Were looking forward to a super fun day. See you then!
Its so hot that
the birds have to use pot holders to pull worms out of the ground.
Refresh Your Gardens
While we cant offer you an F5 key to click that will instantly refresh your gardens back to pre-heatwave grandeur, we can come close. Even during the hottest of days our staff has worked very hard to keep our plant inventory in great condition. Water hoses have run constantly for the past few weeks, so we have beautiful plants available for you to enjoy. To give your landscape the quickest of makeovers, stop out today and pick up several pots of bright annuals. Sit them around your flower beds and patio, and you will magically bring the colors of summer back to your gardens. To make it even easier, all sizes of our summer annuals are Buy One Get One Free.
Its so hot that
hot water comes out of both taps
Be sure to check out our
OverPot ClearStockery Event
Our clearance pottery has been moved into the area in front of House 8 straight in front of you when you come up the drive. Theres quite a selection of sizes and colors with savings up to 50% off. These often overlooked odd pieces make great additions to patios and landscaping, and with the crowds of pizza-eating people we expect this Saturday, they wont last long.
Its so hot that
its noon, kids are on summer vacation,
and not one person is out on the streets.
Spirea added to the 40% Off List
Our entire selection of spirea have joined viburnum and rudbeckia on our 40% off list. Spirea varieties include Goldmound, Magic Carpet, Neon Flash, Little Princess, Peppermint Stick , Norman, Tor and Dakota Goldcharm, a hardy favorite among northern gardeners.
Money will buy a pretty good dog,
but it wont buy the wag of his tail.
Dog Days of Summer
Kickoff Saturday, August 20
FUNDRAISER for the Dane County Humane Society
America’s Best Flowers loves animals. This month we are sponsoring a fundraiser for the Dane County Humane Society (DCHS) to support the less fortunate animals in our area.
Our paw-stomping start to a fun week will begin on Saturday, August 20th with a dog wash. Volunteers from the DCHS will bathe dogs between 11:00 and 3:00. We are suggesting a $10 or larger donation which will go directly to the DCHS.
Tabby & Jacks Mobile Grooming will roll in and trim up those doggie nails for $10 and will donate all proceeds to the DCHS. Also, Talbots Photography will be here to zero in and snap a perfect picture of fluffy Fido! Fifteen percent of Talbots proceeds will be donated to the DCHS.
In the main greenhouse, we have our wall of honor to mans best friend. Please send us a picture of your dog along with his/her name and age. If your dog is a lucky rescue dog please include the name of the organization. Also, please include your name (well use only your first name on the wall of honor). For protection against humidity we will need to laminate the picture. You may either e-mail a picture to abfscimino@yahoo.com, or mail it to America’s Best Flowers, Attn: Shirley Cimino, Events Coordinator, 4311 Vilas Hope Rd., Cottage Grove, WI 53527, or drop it off.

He stole the show!

Two middle-aged couples were enjoying friendly conversation.
One of the men asked the other,
Fred, how was the memory clinic you went to last month?
Outstanding, Fred replied.
They taught us all the latest psychological techniques,
like visualization and association.
It was great. I havent had a problem since.
Sounds like something I could use. said the first man,
What was the name of the clinic?
Fred went blank.
He thought and he thought but couldnt remember.
Then a smile broke across his face,
What do you call that flower with the long stem and thorns?
You mean a rose?.
Yes, thats it!
Fred turned to his wife,
Hey Rose, what was the name of that memory clinic?
