I hope everyone is enjoying the snow. However, we would like a little more sun for growing plants. The geraniums I spoke of last week are growing well at our Edgerton facility. In our Cottage Grove location, our home-grown beneficial bugs are being distributed for insect control and our first small plants have started to arrive for planting – vinca vines and spikes to name a couple.
Our production line is planning to start up on January 28th here in Cottage Grove. We invite you to stop in and see how we plant your hanging baskets, annuals, vegetables, and several perennials. If you would like to bring a group, just give us a call at (608) 222-2269 and we can set up a special tour just for you!
I know many of you are involved in helping local groups meet their funding goals for mission trips, sports equipment, school uniforms, etc. Would you all be so kind as to pass the word around and recommend our gift cards as a fundraising option this spring? Our program is very simple – The group sells gift cards in any denomination and they keep 25% of the profits!
Signing off until next week,

“How well is your garden going to grow?”

Why do melons have fancy weddings?
Because they cantaloupe.
Puppy Chow
For those of you who might be new to the area and wondering why so many of your neighbors seem to be making homemade dog treats: Puppy Chow, the human food, is made by pouring melted butter and various melted sweets, over cereal, mixing well, then dumping that into a bag full of powdered sugar. It’s a classic Midwestern Snack. It has all the elements of a good party food: sweet, salty, crunchy. Enjoy!
1.Melt chocolate chips, butter & peanut butter over medium heat. Stir to blend.
2.Pour over Rice Chex in large bowl.
3.Pour confectioners sugar in large ziplock bag.
4.Add cereal mixture and shake vigorously until coated.
