What’s the first sign of spring?
It’s the 2016 Midwest Garden Expo, of course! February 12th to February 14th. Come on out to the Exhibition Hall, inside the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, and see what’s new for the 2016 gardening season.
Our large and colorful booth is located just inside the entrance across from the Wisconsin Public Television booth. Our experienced staff will be there to answer all your gardening questions.
Q: What did the calculator say to the pencil on Valentine’s Day?
A: You can count on me!
2016 Garden Expo

|Saturday||9am – 6pm|
|Sunday||10am – 4pm|
Come out and see us at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. We’ll have a wide selection of vegetable and flower seeds, succulent plants, flavorful herbs, houseplants, garden supplies and much, much more.
Miniature Gardens are BIG at America’s Best Flowers!
Stop by our booth at the Garden Expo and check out our HUGE miniature garden display. Choose from our vast selection of succulents, miniature garden plants and tiny garden accessories. Then let your imagination take over and create your very own miniature wonderland.
That awkward moment when Valentines Day is around the corner,
and the only person that loves you is your mom.
Blooming plants in February? You bet!
We’ll have blooming primroses and blooming cyclamen at the Garden Expo, too! What a perfect solution to chase away those winter blues! These lovely plants, in a rainbow of colors, would make a perfect Valentine’s Day gift. We’ll also have a nice variety of succulents, including aloe vera, and houseplants for you to choose from.
We have seeds…lots and lots of seeds!
It’s never too early to start planning for this season’s garden. If you are planning a vegetable, herb or flower garden get that seed list ready and bring it out to the Garden Expo next weekend. We’ll have a huge selection of Livingston seeds for you to choose from.
If you can’t make it to the Garden Expo just stop in at our Cottage Grove or Edgerton location, either before or after the Garden Expo, for seeds and other gardening needs.
What did one pickle say to the other?
“You mean great dill to me."
Classic Brand Bird Feeders
Classic Brand bird feeders are made by people who are passionate about birds. Their goal is to develop quality bird products that will bring more birds and more joy into your yard.
People like these bird feeders because they are easy to fill and easy to clean. Birds like them because it’s easy for them to get the food and the larger perches make it much more comfortable for them. How do we know that? Let’s just say a little birdie told us!
Are you Edgerton area folks ready for Valentine’s Day?
Our Edgerton location, at 1101 N. Main St., not only has a beautiful floral shop, but a very talented and creative staff. Give them a call at 608-884-8120 or 1-888-287-1411 and they’ll create a perfect Valentine’s Day bouquet for your very special person. Delivery service, with a nominal charge, is available in the Edgerton area.
America’s Best Flowers Fundraising Program
Spring 2016 is right around the corner! People are beginning to think about vegetable gardens, shade trees, flowering shrubs and glorious flowers.
What perfect timing for your non-profit organization to participate in America’s Best Flowers fundraiser program. Non-profit organizations earn 25% of the proceeds from each gift card they sell. For example, if your organization sells $500 of our gift cards, which are available in any denomination over $10, your organization would earn $125.
Please contact us if your non-profit organization is in need of funds for things such as (but by no means limited to):
- local charities, (i.e. food pantry)
- church mission trips,
- new equipment or uniforms for your school sports program, or
- new equipment or uniforms for your school band or orchestra.
America’s Best Flowers gift cards are valid at both our Cottage Grove and Edgerton locations.
If you are interested or have questions regarding our easy and profitable program, please contact Shirley at email@example.com.

Lisa has provided us with this sweet treat for Valentine’s Day! She guarantees that if you love sweets you’ll love this recipe.
Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- ½ c softened butter
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- ¾ cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
- ¾ cup finely chopped pecans
Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually add sugars, beat just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
To make the cheese ball, place refrigerated mixture on plastic wrap and form ball. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Roll cheese ball in pecans and serve with vanilla wafers and graham crackers.
(I do not make it into the ball or roll it in nuts. I know too many people who are hesitant about the nuts for gatherings. I just use it like a dip or spread.)
