This is a great dip and just a little different from many of the onion dips. Who ever thought of sautéing the onions first is a genius! Serve with a veggie tray, crackers and or spread over a nice juicy hamburger. Yum!
Caramelized Onion Dip
- 2 T olive oil
- ¾ tsp Kosher salt
- ¾ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ tsp white pepper
- 1½ cup diced onions
- 1½ cup sour cream
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
Saute onions in olive oil and add ¼ tsp salt, cook until caramelized (about 20 min). Remove from heat and set aside. Mix the rest of the ingredients and add to cooled onions.
Refrigerate and stir again before serving.
